Meet Our Teachers And Staff
One of Alphabet Academy's best traits is it's longevity of staff and teachers. This also speaks highly of our company and organization as usually the childcare industry is a high turnover field of employment. It also lets parents know that our staff and teachers have years of experience in the child care field. Our teachers are requried to have yearly education as well as criminal clearances and FBI background checks. Most teachers and staff have years of experience working with children as well as implementing the academic curriculum that our school uses daily. Meet some of our staff below.
Mr Jesse/Director/Founder
1992-Present
Jesse Ivy was born and raised in Eureka, California, in the heart of the Redwoods. When he graduated from high school, he attended college. He has owned and operated Alphabet Academy since it's beginning. He has also owned and operated five different childcare centers over the past 20 years. Jesse enjoys making the experience of preschool both safe and enjoyable for all children in the Central Oregon area.
He also has two children of his own who have attended his preschools. His daughter Victoria is 25 and his son Alex is 20. In his spare time, Jesse enjoys running, working out, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and wife, Sam. He also owns and operates three online real estate businesses, is a website developer and tinkers in real estate.
Miss Shelly/Assistant Manager/Teacher

Shelly Winstead grew up in Canby, Oregon and moved to Bend in 2003 where she graduated from Bend Senior High in 2005. She has been working in the childcare industry for 7 years with the last 4 years at Alphabet Academy Eastside. She loves spending time with her husband, Andy. She also enjoys spending time with her six kids, Jena 11, Dustin 8, Bradyn 6, Sienna 5, Rylee 5, and Tanner 1. In her free time, Shelly enjoys going for walks, camping in the Oregon outdoors and just relaxing when she can.

Bambi Flynn grew up in Grass Valley, California. She and her husband Kevin and their two children, Jennifer and Sean, moved to Bend in 1995. Bambi has been working at Alphabet Academy Eastside since 2002. She has taken countless child development classes over the years and has taught in every classroom at Alphabet Academy. She enjoys serving the children of Deschutes County and is always one of our school's most popular teachers. Bambi has two grandchildren, Kaden and Kiera. Bambi's hobbies include her animals, crafts and playing video games.
Laurie Griego has lived in Bend for the past 13 years. Her educational background consists of graduating from Mountain View High School, and she has an Associates Degree with a Dental Assisting Certification. While pursuing her career in the dental field, Laurie would soon discover that her passion was in child development and not in dentistry. Laurie has been working at Alphabet Academy Eastside since 2006. She is currently working towards her C.D.A.( a certification in child development) by taking lots of child development classes.
Laurie's hobbies include, playing in intramural team sports, watching the Food Network, caring for her cats(Kali & Archie), and spending time with her husband Tony and with her family.
